Why do I need to floor prep?
Inadequate floor preparation can lead to a ruined flooring project. New floors are an expensive investment. Not only are the flooring materials costly, but the labor to demolish and install floors are as well. This is one of the reasons why you want everything to be properly prepared before installing your new beautiful floors. The removal of old floors, removal of glue adhesive and nails, and floor leveling must take place before installing new floors.
Fundamentals of Floor Prep
LENKO Flooring is the floor store that will give you peace at mind as we properly prepare floors that you picked out. Installing floors can be extremely complex when you want to get it done once. Our team of flooring professionals completes everything that is required when floor prepping.
Removing glue adhesives and nails
Adhesives are designed to maintain the floors in place and to uphold tremendous force. Left over adhesives are extremely difficult to remove without special equipment. When the flooring installation method in your old floors involved nails, flooring demolition becomes time consuming and requires technique to safely remove the nails.
It is not uncommon that when buildings are constructed, the initial floors may not have been properly leveled. This is something that is difficult to identify until the floors are removed, or you can use a beam level and measure the degree of the floor. Flooring contractors and professionals are trained in identifying if a floor is level or not, and can be fixed once the problem is identified.
